But plug one in and something strange happens.
The image looks soft, grainy, and oddly dim—nothing like the footage in the product listing.
A true 4K sensor captures roughly 8.3 million pixels, and pushing that much data through a USB cable in real time is genuinely hard.
Many budget cameras quietly downsample, crop, or compress the feed before it ever reaches your laptop.
