A Carrington-level event today would fry transformers, kill GPS, and send us back to 1859. The Sun doesn't need our permission to remind us who's in charge.
Maybe the Sun really is just a fusion reactor. Maybe the coronal heating problem has a boring answer. But when an institution tells you to stop asking questions about the single most important object in your sky, that's not science. That's gatekeeping. And the gate is starting to glow.
