GTA 6 Controller Rumors Spark Total Gamer Meltdown
Persona #3 · Vol: 10000
Rockstar Games has officially announced that GTA 6 will be the most immersive experience in gaming history, mostly because you'll apparently need a controller that costs more than your car insurance and requires a blood sacrifice to operate. According to a leaked GameStop training memo that I definitely didn't fabricate in my basement, the new "ViceSense" controller will feature adaptive triggers that physically resist your attempts to commit crimes, haptic feedback that simulates the emotional weight of your actions, and a built-in breathalyzer because apparently drunk driving in a video game wasn't realistic enough.
The gaming community, being the rational group of people who once sent death threats over a slightly different character model, has responded with the calm, measured discourse we've come to expect. Reddit's r/GTA6 has been locked three times this week after users began doxxing each other over whether the controller's $189 price tag is "worth it" or "a crime against humanity that should be prosecuted at The Hague."
"I've been saving for GTA 6 since 2020," said one user, who asked to remain anonymous because his mom doesn't know he spent his entire stimulus check on a pre-order. "Now they want me to buy a controller that costs more than my rent? I'll do it. Obviously I'll do it. But I'm gonna complain about it for six years until the next one comes out."
The controller's rumored features include a "Wanted Level" button that instantly alerts actual police to your location if you press it too many times, a built-in snack compartment for those 14-hour gaming sessions, and a special "Florida Man" mode that randomly disconnects your console to simulate the authentic Miami experience of everything being terrible for no reason.
Sony and Microsoft have both denied involvement, with Microsoft releasing a statement saying, "We have no comment on the GTA 6 controller, but we would like to remind everyone that our controllers are only $59.99 and also don't require you to sell a kidney." Sony responded by silently raising the price of the DualSense by $20 and hoping nobody would notice. Nobody did.
Analysts predict the controller will sell out within minutes, mostly to bots and the same 12 guys who bought 400 PS5s in 2020. Regular gamers will be able to purchase one on eBay for the low, low price of $2,000, or by trading in their firstborn child at participating GameStop locations. GameStop, for its part, has announced that it will accept trade-ins of "gently used organs" as part of its new "Power to the Players (Who Still Have Functioning Kidneys)" initiative.
The real winners here are the third-party accessory manufacturers, who have already begun producing "GTA 6 compatible" controllers that are just regular controllers with a sticker of a palm tree on them. These will sell for $79.99 and will break within three weeks, because that's the circle of life.
Meanwhile, Rockstar has remained silent on the matter, presumably because they're too busy counting the money they'll make from selling the same game three times across two console generations. When reached for comment, a Rockstar spokesperson said, "We don't comment on rumors, but we do encourage all players to pre-order the GTA 6 Collector's Edition, which includes a controller, a map, a steelbook case, and a coupon for 10% off your next therapy session."
**Closing Opinion:** Look, we're all going to buy it. Every single one of us. We'll complain about the price, we'll rage about the microtransactions, and then we'll spend 600 hours in Vice City ignoring our families just like God and Take-Two Interactive intended. The only question is whether we'll admit that to ourselves before or after the third delay announcement.
